Ashu represents a new wave of expression in India. Philosophically Indian but musically global. A singer-songwriter who weaves stories of love and loss, hope and fear, that are at once intensely personal and invitingly universal. The music is ambient psychedelic rock with an acoustic as well as an electronic vibe. Accompanying the band are rich visuals that act as triggers helping the audience transcend into various parallel spaces of the mind.
His debut album 'Sigh of an Angel' has just been released on Bluefrog Records in October 2008 and the current band has been together for the past one year. Ashu's on-stage energy during live performances is as adrenalin pumping for the audience as they appear to be for him and his latest show promises to be a romp for the senses journeying through a myriad styles and genres. Accompanying him on tour are guitar maestro Sanjay Divecha, Lindsay D'mello on drums, JD on bass, Vivienne Pocha & Caralisa Monteiro on vocals.
